  2. Transportation (ie. driving gas-powered vehicles) makes up 63 % of Vernon’s greenhouse gas emissions (see p. 11 of Vernon’s prize-winning Climate Action Plan: https://www.vernon.ca/homes-building/environment-sustainability/climate-action)? The most important way to decrease the number of cars on the road is through providing the alternative of public transit. Active transportation (eg. biking and walking) and electric cars also play a role. These examples are the only means of transportation for many of our seniors, kids, and neighbours with diverse abilities. How might you help us reduce total GHGs?

  3.  Drawdown Ignite webinar  February 7 at 1 pm ET : Project Drawdown scientist Amanda Smith explores why buildings contribute so much to climate change and suggest solutions that can lessen their impact. To ensure a healthier planet and a better future for ourselves and future generations, we must construct and conduct our buildings better to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (about 30% in Vernon). Register now >>
