  2. Environmental Awareness Day, June 12: Armstrong/Spallumcheen Climate Action is organizing an environmental meet and greet at Armstrong’s Memorial Park and you are invited! Interested? More details to come or contact mikicannon@gmail.com for them.

  3. Weed Pull, BX Ranchlands Park, June 13, 9am – 2 pm. Most activity will be in the morning. Come and spend a few hours benefitting this land. Let Kathy know you can come:  triskele.jenkins@gmail.comYou could assist school students with any expertise you have OR just bring shovel, gloves and bags to either a) dig and leave some weeds to dry and die, or b) snag and bag last year’s escapee seed heads. RDNO staff will be on hand to assist. At 9am some classes will meet and start at the south end of the park near the gulch and Black Rock Rd. Others will meet at the parking lot on East Vernon Road.   4. Watershed Logging?  Tolko has proposed new cutblocks near Duteau Creek Watershed. The RDNO is in discussion with Tolko over these highly vulnerable areas and will continue to monitor these plans. Please follow the link to the RDNO media release.
