  2. Film screening: Trouble in the Headwaters, Tuesday September 9, at Vernon Library. The film documents 30 years of research by UBC forest hydrology prof, Younes Alila, which shows clearly the result of too much clear-cutting in BC: more floods, landslides, and droughts (and resulting fires).Film at 7 pm; Discussion of local issues by Prof Alila and film director Daniel Pierce at 7:30 pm.
