Call to Action
Help Fund Local Climate Action in Vernon. Vernon residents and local organizations can apply for the City of Vernon’s Sustainability Grant, which provides up to $2,000 for community projects addressing climate change and environmental sustainability. Applications are open October 5–November 11, 2026, making this a great opportunity for local groups to turn an environmental idea into action. For more information, go here.
Attend the Environmental Flows Conference in Kelowna. The siwłkʷ WATER FOR ALL Environmental Flows Conference takes place October 7–9 in Kelowna, bringing together researchers, water managers, Indigenous knowledge holders, policymakers and environmental organizations to discuss healthy rivers and environmental water needs. The conference will explore the science and practice of protecting the water that ecosystems and communities depend on, with registration open until October 5. For more, go here.
