Call to Action

  1. STOP THE SPRAWL VERNON! We need your ongoing help to stop the urban sprawl. Please get involved and make your voice heard. If you can, attend council meetings, order and display window signs, T-shirts, post about it on social media. To learn more about the cause go to Facebook, or to Climate Action Now! North Okanagan.

  2. Grasslands Blog. The Allan Brooks Nature Centre seeks guest contributors for a new Blog Series focused on the ecological importance of Okanagan grasslands to help people understand why protection is so important for biodiversity, wildlife, and ecosystem health. Contact Stephanie (events@abnc.ca). Blogs will be featured on the abnc.ca website.

  3. Tell the Olympics to Drop Fossil Fuel Sponsors. The Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) needs your support to urge the Olympics and Paralympics not to accept fossil fuel sponsorships. Help push for major international sporting events to align with climate and public health values, not polluting industries. Sign letter here
