  1. 2025 among the hottest years on record. Scientists report that the past year has been one of the three hottest years ever recorded. The three year average now exceeding the Paris Agreement’s 1.5 degrees Celsius target. Full AP story, here.

  2. Devastating floods and storms hit Asia. Researchers say the deadly storms and floods in late 2025 across Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand were intensified by climate change.   3. Scientists identify a dangerous arctic feedback loop. Melting sea ice leads to heat and pollutants entering the atmosphere, forming clouds that accelerate further ice loss and warming.   2. Building mini-forests. In Ontario, the school board in partnership with the local municipality planted trees in December. They planted multiple strategic species together to promote biodiversity and support the native plants and animals. For more information, go here.
